Does using an external hdmi monitor save or drain DSLR battery life?

Anyone here notice if battery life is longer or less when using an external monitor for their DSLR camera when shooting video? ie. Canon 5D mark III using a 7inch HDMI external monitor.

If so, how much more or less are you getting by using an external monitor?

I havent noticed it...I use the Zacuto EVF on every shoot with the Canon 5D3 and I have not noticed an improved battery...I dont think you would see that much of a difference. Besides, Canon batteries are small, easy to change and cheap.. get a few more batteries!! :D
