does this rode mic fit the dvx100a?

I had this mic when I had my old VX2000 before I got my DVX. It will mount to the DVX but it will not be able to plug in unless you get a 3.5mm to xlr adapter. I do not really recommend it though. It is very sensitive to camera movements and the lo-cut filter has no effect at all. I would definitely get an actual xlr shotgun mic. I have an Audio Technica AT897. It is $270 but it is totally worth it.

The Rode VM is a pretty good interview mic for its price, it is very sensitive as Andy said and does have a pretty wide pickup pattern so its best used in an indoor environment thats fairly quiet and you'll get clean audio.

I use a Rode NTG-2 on my DVX and I've done outdoor interviews in some pretty cr@p conditions and it hold up great to unwanted noise.

EDIT. BTW, if you buy the VM there's an adaptor you can buy specifically for this mic to convert to XLR input. They are around $10.
