Does the Panasonic HMC save the time with the clips?

This is a typical beginner's question, I know nothing about this, so I will ask a very basic question:
Does my HMC store the exact time of the recording somewhere? So that I later, when opening my footages, somehow can find out at what hour, minute and second a certain frame was shot?

An old DV camcorder which my friend has, recording on tape, can do this. By pushing a button, one can turn on / off digits showing the hour, minute and second that particular recording was made.

I think that such data possibly is stored either in the MTS file itself, or on one of the other files I find in various folders on my SD card.
Now - if this is the case, that the time is stored, does software exist that will be able to read this data and then superimpose it on the pictures? I use Sony Vegas as an NLE. Can it do this? I would like to do this in post production, I do NOT want digits on my original footages, they would be impossible to remove in those cases when I do not want this information.

its called free run time code. and yes it has it. the hmc150 has a couple different type of time code methods. so you just have to choose what type of time code in the camera settings. to get it displayed in vegas you'd need a time code generator. not sure where thats at in vegas as i don't use that NLE. but shouldn't be hard to figure out.
