is the component out on the HVX digital or analog?

analog has a max resolution of 576p
digital has up to 1080p

what's the resolution of the component output on the HVX?
 
As far as I know, you can output 720 or 1080 via the HVX's component out as well. Whatever record mode you have the camera set in is the resolution the component will output. It will up or downconvert as necessary
 
HVX has HD analog component out. Analog component comes in two flavors, HD or SD. You quoted numbers for SD; HVX (and Z1 and HD100 and XHA1 and XLH1 and basically every other HD camcorder on the market) offers HD analog component. It's fully capable of carrying a 720/60p or 1080/60i signal at full resolution.
