Does the gain (12dB) works with the DVX100B in 24p?

Hi:
I own a DVX100 and when shooting in progressive 24p or 30p I dont
have access to the gain control...
I've read that with the DVX100A you can use it...but I dont know if this is the
case for a DVX100B.....
The noise that comes from using gain.... 6dB,12dB or 18dB it is more noticeable
in progressive mode than in 60i?

im having no problems using either +6 or +12 on 24p or pa.

How the video looks...too grainy? or its the same if used as in 60i?
