Does the AF100 have the same bad jello problem as GH2?

while the gh2 can and does make nice images with AND without the hack, it's a total pain in the butt to work with! Monitoring is horrible. Dual sound, no internal ND, no good monitoring out interface, and stuck in 4.2.0 keeps it in the bag more often for me than the AF100. YEAH YEAH YEAH, you can hack it. You can also Hack the AF100 by adding ANY external recorder and get 4.2.2 8/bit.
About the rolling shutter. The AF100 is just better at it. Period!

The Gh2 is a great little camera. It has it's pros and cons. Just like any camera does. For serious set up work though, the AF100 is stronger in terms of it's built in abilities.

It sounds like the GH2 is as much a pain to work with as any other DSLR out there, so no surprise there.
Do you use an external recorder with the AF100?

Here and there. ALl the recorder will do is give you that bump in color due to the 422 8/bit. The AF100 is just fine with AVChd.

I would also think a recorder would help with any problems associated with compression in addition to just color. AVCHD is a good codec but it's no prores, dnxhd and specially not uncompressed. At least this is the case when you use a recorder with the EX3. You can clearly see the difference from xdcam. But then again the EX3 is not giving you only 8bit from sdi.

GH2 is much easier to work with because it has an electronic viewfinder that does not disappear like a canon or nikon, and has an articulating lcd.

I've haven't had a visible case of jello or skew with my last 3 shoots with my GH2. I never physically hold the camera in my hands though. Who would? A little shoulder rig is perfect, nimble, and the level of steady I personally like.
Well I did do a shoot with the AF-100 and GH-2 recently and did hold the GH-2 in my hands for quick shots (circus performers). Kept the AF-100 on sticks. Wanted to try out the GH-2 as the B-cam. As long as there was movement in the frame and I didn't trip the GH-2 stuff looks acceptable. I use a little handle in my left hand and bifocals to make the LCD screen clearer. But would you share what little shoulder rig you use with the GH-2? Thanks

I use this one http://www.amazon.com/ePhoto-Camcor...=1346942006&sr=8-1&keywords=dslr+shoulder+rig

Last week I configured it like a Fig Rig and actually was able to pull off a walking shot with my 14-42 kit lens with stabilization on. Not super quality construction, but you can configure it any which way you want. I added a 2" offset from one of the 1/4" 20 holes and threw a quick release plate on that so the Gh2 sits offset from the middle and perfectly positioned for me to use the viewfinder without turning or rotating my head.
