does Sony have anything like "Panasonic image" app for self shooting with Sony A7s???

As a GH4 owner, it's nice to know that I have the "Panasonic image" app in addition to the 180 degree articulating screen.

But let's say you want to do a self shoot with the Sony A7s (whose screen can't flip out and rotate) and you don't have access to an expensive external monitor (like SmallHD). Is there a way to monitor yourself in real time? Is there anything like a "Panasonic image" app out there?

There is a free smart remote app in the Sony store, haven't tried it, but it looks like you get live preview on your phone and you can trigger the shutter or recording.

Note - it doesn't do 1/4 of what the Panasonic one does. It's very limited. No focusing, no changing ISO, can't shoot in S-Log and so on.

Oh no...that's very disappointing. In other words, you can only observe via wifi on iphone or iPad...nothing else???

You can change f-stop, shutter, iso, or even go into auto mode like P, A, S priority, zoom in and out, change white balance, just no focusing, and you can still control the camera from the camera, don't know what the other guys are talking about, works fine for me, there is lag time so I don't think the guy that is looking at the live feed can do follow focus.

I couldn't do any of that. I was running in Movie mode; all it lets me do it start and stop. What an I missing?

Make sure you have the latest update, they just update it a week ago I think.

I just downloaded the latest version of Sony "Play Memories" on my iPhone 5, and the only option I have is "record".
Can't change f-stop, ISO, or anything else. Can you post some snap shots of the app doing that. I must be missing something.
