Does S-Log record to SxS or only LUT?

I have been using my F3 primarily with an external recorder since I purchased S-log earlier this year. I know this has been discussed before, but I can't seem to find a way to get S-Log to record directly to SxS. It always seems to record with an LUT applied even if LUT is turned off in the menu. Is this correct? I also tried using the Picture Profile S-log that came with firmware 1.4, but it still looked different from the external recording.

Any ideas?

Well Alister mentioned on his forum that it should be the same S-log output to both external and internal recordings. Perhaps the fact that I was testing a friend's Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 and recording to DNxHD caused a gamma shift, but the SxS looked definitively like it had a Rec709 LUT applied rather than a gamma shift.

Everything I've read says that shouldn't happen. Basically everything is SLOG and if you turn LUT on it gets applied to HDMI and HD-SDI ports (for producer/director anti-cranky mechanism) while SLOG goes out dual-link ports.

I'd really like to know what happened in your case.
