Does Raylight work in more than one instance ?

I have been converting my MX2 files to AVI's for a couple hours now; no worries, just surfing the web, eating dinner, etc ...

But then it dawned

Can I simply start the Raymaker.exe app as many times as I need ? Like ...

Open a P2 Folder; start the Raymaker
Open anotherP2 folder; start the Raymaker
Opem another and so and so on

I have approximately 18 P2 Folders (each one an upload from the Card), can I convert them all at once ?

Just click click click click and then chill ?

I think you can copy and paste and start how many raymaker.exe you want. I did it for a maximum of 8 p2/video folders and the conversion became obviously very slow and sucking all the pc resources.
Then prospect hd came...

You don't have to save the original files.

Cineform is codec that holds up many generations perfectly. Great for when you to jump to after effect or discreet then bring the footage back in.

If you edit premire you can edit real time unlike Raylight.

If you want to edit with the cheaper 8 bit versions of cineform. Then you can always go back and swap them out with the 10 bit more expensive prospect if you want to go to film out. This means your files are gonna look way better than Raylight or even Native if you get the oppurtunity to transfer to 35mm film.

The last is very important to me because I'm shooting a feature on weekends and I'm not sure if we'll get picked up and get make a 35mm print. IF I get that lucky then I can spend the money on PROSPECT HD and get a better quality 1080p copy that will look better than native.

I also like that fact htat you can shoot 108024pn and scale down to 720p and get a less compressed image.

Check the cineform demo and website/thread John. You just might find it a better option for you.

You probably bought raylight for the price.
I did too.
It is just too slow and I don't like the flow of it.

I now use Edius as it is fast, and does what I need it to do.

Cineform, I would consider it the best, but feel it is way over priced.
I don't mind spending money, but I only spend top dollar on something that
I need, and makes money with no other alternative.

There are other alternatives under a grand, so I don't buy Cineform.

Edius cost $800 and does what I need, plus it's and editor.

Raylight is cheap, but the flow sucks and it's too slow, so for me it's not worth what little it costs.

There is another codec out there that converts files to avi's for around $200.
Serious Magic would be my choice for what you seem to be doing with Raylight, but only after they get the "PN" modes working.
