i was filming an event last night and was working with another guy doing film who mentioned panasonic had a new camera about to come out sometime next year that is the "answer to the canon 7d" and he mentioned a sales guy at our local film and rental shop told him. i asked him what was the name, price range or any specs and he said he couldn't remember what the sales guy told him because he knew he couldn't afford it anyway. i've been off the forums for a while so if this has been covered then my badd....does anybody know if there's anything to this rumor?

Panasonic has the GH2 witch can be had for $1,000 and is a still cam a that shoots video too.

They also are introducing the AF100 which is more around the $5,000 mark and is more akin to a 170 but with a 4/3" sensor and a completely professional solution for video.

ah ok, so sounds like the AF100 is along the lines of what he was talking about since he was comparing it to my hpx170
