Does mc5 have pulldown removal?

Sorry if this question has been asked.

I'm going to edit AVCHD footage shot on a GH1 which puts it in a 60i wrapper.

Does Avid have pulldown removal?

Also, I'm not sure of the process, but I think it goes like this.

1) Capture the footage into the computer
2) Remove pulldown
3) Transcode

Is this correct?
 
In MC5 you have something similar with the frame rate mix and match. Capture/ingest your dailies in a 1080i/29.97 project. Then open all your bins in a 1080p/23.976 project. The frame rate mix and match does a conversion and is real time to the original frames; essentially a pulldown removal with no need to transcode.
