Does firestore break files into 4GB segments ?

When recording only to a firestore, does it break long recording times into 4 Gb segments as the p2 card does ?

I believe the Firestore recordes in 2 Gb segments

Usually just under on my FS-100, 1.93G...1.95G...so basically what 5ive said.

Does this mean a shot that is long (over about 2 GB's which is 2mins of 1080 HD record time) will be split by the firestore into multiple clips and need to be joined up later in editing ?

Yes sir, The dudes i work with who edit HVX material say it's not a big deal and my understanding is that the splits are seamless.

5ive is correct. Transitions from one continuous 2GB segment to the next is seamless.
