Hi everyone, I own a DVX and an AF100. Since I got 2 high capacity dvx100 batteries and only one AF100 battery I would like to know if they are switchable from one model the other.

No they aren't. Panasonic makes two series of batteries, the AF100 uses the same batteries as the HMC150, HMC40, HMC80, AC160, and AC130. The DVX uses the same batteries as the HVX200, HPX170, HPX250, and AC90.

only difference is the plastic tabs on the bottom or connecting side of the battery that stops you from using on both... a shame, and one that might be able to be physically hacked.

It's such a shame... but I won't risk to modify it anyway, I'll drop more money when I have it to buy an extra battery for my AF100.

SmallHD only sells a D54-style battery mount for its DP6 monitors... I modified mine to accept either D54s or E/625's, but then the DP6 is fairly simple and multi-voltage... I'd hesitate doing the same to a camera, although someday I may try it with my HVX as the D54s wear out.

That is not the only difference. The AVCCAM batteries have a chip in them that tell the camera exactly to-the-minute how much battery time they have left.
