Frank... The Intensity Pro was what we used.. you could use the HDMI version as well..
We used FCP to capture it through...
It is full res.. full motion.. and yes it's possible to catpure live video to the harddrive... whatever is coming in... could be shot simultaneously. We did all archived stuff off SD media.
When you capture live video to the hard drive..what program do you use?
I know I have several questions..I emailed the company a while back..saying I wanted to record from the HMC150 direct to the hard drive and they said it was not supported. So its interesting it worked for you..maybe they are not familiar with the camera.
So basically the card with capture video but also you can feed the live camera video (and audio?) and record on the hard drive..without recording to the SD card? Or does that have to be recording as well?
I didn't do a live record.. but I wouldn't see why it couldn't handle that.. it sends out a live signal to my monitor so the intensity would handle it. I believe the difference is that one has a breakout cable and one just has HDMI. I'd suggest getting the full blown one as you one day might have to capture SD or something else that doesn't have HDMI. I can't say for sure about the live.. but I'd assume that it would be good.
The thing the 150 doesn't have is a firewire port.
