Does Avid support progressive frames?

Last week for the first time I was shooting in progressive mode with Panasonic HVX200 on DV cassette and then captured the footage in Avid Media Composer in 25p project.
Jaggy horizontal lines are worse than interlaced frames. Out of Avid, in After effects and Windows media player, the picture is like it should be.
I was read in help that Avid converts progressive frames into interlaced frames when you press the play button. What is the point of progressive mode and project if you want the output on beta? Most of the people work with progressive, even in Premiere.
Is it possible that Avid can't work with progressive mode or I don't know some tips for that? Why did they even give project option 25p if we can't work in it.
What is going on in Avid? Anyone knows anything?
Thanks, Mia

Jaggy intelaced lines where? On Avid's composer windows?
As far as I know, footage on DV cassette and in Avid is always interlaced no matter if yo shoot 25p or 50i. Difference is that these interlace fields are "photographed" same time and this makes your footage progressive.
Avid's interlaced or progressive projects differ only how program treats text, crossfades and effects and that's it.
In Media Composer you can output full screen previev (at least newer versions) and that's progressive, not any lines.
So don't worry these little composer windows...these are only for previewing.
