As some of you must know, Brazil is maybe the largest catholic country in the world. If not the first, certainly the second one. In my city, located in the middle of Amazonia, for more than 200 years people celebrate what we call Cirio de Nazare, when more than 2 million catholics go to streets to follow an old statue of Saint Mary. People say that this statue appeared one day for a man, as a miracle.

The problem is: some years ago, a group of intelectuals decided to make a PARTY in the same day, at the same time and in the same way of the statue. The intelectuals got bored and the party became a gay party. For the typical catholic citizen of my city, these gays are the worst sinners of the world for doing that in a holy day. But the gays are catholic too. They say it´s their way to thank Saint Mary.

The documentary is about this conflict. A friend of mine directed and I was the DP in some parts of it.

Though I lighted some interviews and operated the camera in the others I don´t consider myself a 'REAL' DP! hehehe

No subtitles, sorry. But I think it won´t be hard to understand that the priest and the old lady are not saying good things about the gays.
