Hello,

Here is an overview of the documentary film about sugar cane plantation in Martinique we are currently shooting.

http://vimeo.com/12434277

This 52-minute docu is shot in FullHD 1080p 25 (AVC-Intra 100).

This overview has been edited (FCP) and graded (Color 1.5) very quickly without audio mix.

Very cool. Just left a post on vimeo with a couple of questions that I'll repost here:

"Very nice! Was this with the stock lens? Any special settings or scene files? When will the final doc be finished, and will there be subtitles?"

Very good. The shot near the start which tilts down from the cane is very surprising, I thought it was grass 2 feet tall - big shock when I saw the size of the woman in comparison!

From a technical point of view: fair bit of colour fringing on some of the shots, also when the focus was on it was excellent, but it seemed to be a touch off occasionally. I'll take a guess here, tell me if I'm right - were you shooting as near to wide open as possible to give shallower depth of field? That would partly account for both of those things?

Standout thing technicaly for me was the colour quality, pure Panasonic like you get from a Varicam, good dynamic range like a Varicam too.

Good stuff, thanks for letting us see.

thank you for sharing this with us, i couldnt understand what was said but the colours certainly did pop and was good to see the work being done there.

It's not easy pulling focus in bright light like that when the talents on the move and not staged. look forward to seeing more of your work :)
