Im about to start shooting a full length doc. What setting or tips does everyone recommend?
There will be inside and outside shooting, interviews, in car stuff, etc.

Audio: Any suggestions? Has anyone tried a Lav/boom combination?

What setting? Sorry this may not be what you are looking for but .... the one that's right for that shot. There is no one 'setting' that is going to cover it all. Get 'Exposure', 'Focus', 'White Balance' and 'Audio' right 'in-camera' and you will be well on your way ....

Of course. Lots of people have. The important thing is to have 'options', so that you can use which ever option is best for each shot you do. Again, no one mic can do everything perfectly and having the option of both Lavs & Boom mounted mics is better than only having one or the other.
