Documentary on Wounded Warrior

Hello All,

I made a half-hour long documentary about my good friend Rob Jones, a marine who lost his legs in Afghanistan last year. The documentary chronicles his recovery process.

We had a big local community screening last night where we raised almost $4K for Wounded Warrior Project! All in all, it was a really great project to work on.

I shot the majority of it on my trusty HMC-150. Give it a look if you have a chance. Thanks!

You did a wonderful job telling this story, and congratulations on your fundraising efforts for Wounded Warriors! There is a group in Baltimore you might also want to network with to screen your film - http://bit.ly/aHZkCG - it's the Veteran's Artist Program and they have semi-regular screenings of projects about and created by veterans.

best of luck,
Mark

Beautiful on so many levels. Worth 25 minutes of my life to appreciate Rob Jones and all those like him. Thanks!

What a great documentary and fitting tribute to your friendship with such an interesting guy.

I just know that when I get problems in the future I will only have to think about this film for a moment and be able to put life in perspective!

First and foremost... was the lower third for the CFI Minitry Triathlon supposed to read CFI Ministry Triathlon? If so, you might want to fix that typo.

That said... this little documentary is proof you don't need to have ridiculously shallow depth of field, or gratuitous slider shots, or a 2k or 4k sensor. I'm not knocking those things... I mean, I'm waiting for a producer I work a lot for to sign some long term contracts with a particular client so I can justify buying an AF100. But as long as you have a compelling story and know how to tell it, a little 1/3" camera with pixel shifted sensors that still aren't "Full HD" is more than adequate. I mean, did anyone really care that most of those shots had deep DoF?

Beautiful. Utterly beautiful. Tirapell is right, that was worth 25 minutes of my life. I'm re-posting this on Facebook for others to see.
