Here is a recent project I was a part of that used my HPX170. I shot most of it and there are some Steadicam-like shots throughout the piece (I used a Glidecam 2000 Pro handheld rig instead of my full size rig). There were a lot of shots that were slowed down in Final Cut, not real slow motion. Also, the tripod we used wasn't the smoothest :)

Wow, that was a touching piece. And nicely shot David. The sound was nice as well. I have a similar project coming up in January. What was your primary microphone for the people seated? Lav? Shotgun? In the teaching spots, with the students, was there extra lighting in that room or just the existing light? Did you use an on camera light at any point. I ask this because I saw some highlights in the center of their eyes sometimes. I think the only think I would have done differently was to use a less wrinkled background or if you were using that one for intent, then perhaps thowing it more out of focus or having it sweep up further back to accomplish the same effect. Thank you for your comments Steve. We used both Sennheiser Evolution G2 Wireless lavs and a shotgun mic. As far as I can tell, only the Wireless lavs made it to the edit. We had only existing lighting (overhead fluorescents) for the teaching spots while the students were sitting down listening. We had an onboard light (Litepanel Micro) that was occasionally used while we were shooting people walking around the exhibits. We were shooting during an actual scheduled tour, so I seldom used the onboard light as to not disturb them. Only during the shots of just exhibits (without people) did we have more elaborate lighting setups (Arri Fresnels, Dedolights, and an HMI). I agree with you about the wrinkled background. We knew about it and tried to smooth it out without much luck. We also tried moving the camera as far away as possible to throw it out of focus, but what you see is the best we could get without using a 35mm adapter. Thanks for checking this out.
