Documentary Film: Shooting technique inquiry?

Shooting in Floridan jungle with interviews indoors and outdoors. Any detail setting formulas that you geniuses have cooked up that would appropriate for these circumstances both in daylight and at night? Detail,v detail, detail coring, chroma level, chroma phase, a iris etc ? And i'd like to know what everyone thought about the 24p 24pa and 30p question and the letterbox vs squeeze functions? Id really be interested in seeing what people had to say...thanks for your time.

there's a real good thread in the archives about a doc called "Iraq in Fragments" by James Longley. He won best cinematography at Sundance and was nominated for an Oscar. In the thread James goes over his production techinuqes. If you have a chance, rent the doc, its available at Blockbuster.
