Award Winning Filmmaker
On may 3rd 2012, my best friend from high school passed away in a street racing accident in his hometown of Naperville, Illinois. A year later I decided to immortalize him in my artwork and create a project entitled "A Place to Call His Own", the title coming from lyrics to his favorite song "All i want by A Day to Remember". The project began with a short film running 23min where i showcased he and i's friendships through the experimental work and camera tests he helped me with over the years as well as interviewing our friends on a Sony Z1. The short got a full page write up in the Chicago Sun Times and sold out a 300 seat theater here in Chicagoland. The next step was a more personal cut, running 45min which I used more as personal therapy to help me overcome his passing but in my eyes was not a good example of my technical abilities as a filmmaker and has sense been taken down from the amazon marketplace.
This october I am creating the final cut of the project which should run in around 1:30min or there abouts. It will include footage from both versions previous to it as well as new material. It is by far the most important thing I have done as a filmmaker so far and would really mean alot if I got some support from you guys. I have included the trailer to the short below as well as the teaser for the 5 year final cut coming may 3rd 2017.
