Will December 21st 2012 be the end of the world? Document 12.21.12 begins with tragedy in Los Angeles, but what is the source?

Document 12.21.12 is a VFX short film based around an evidence tape discovered in the wreck of Los Angeles after 12.21.12

Hey just stumbled upon this forum, I'm a strong EX3 user so this will be very helpful for tips and such..

Long story short, I'm a 19 year old film student who loves VFX films, this is my Thesis project for the New York Film Academy screening at universal studios. Check it out, I learn from feedback so please be critical, tell me what you love and hate.

I shot on Sony EX3 & Canon 5D as B Roll

Dude.!

This was very impressive work.! The way that you dealt with the subject matter, by making it look like you had gathered all these different types of footage and information -- It really made this short film seem so much bigger than it actually was.. :)

It appears that a lot of work has gone into the editing of this film -- And it looks great. I'm really digging the way that you've mixed the footage from before and after the 'end of the world'. It evokes a strong sense of irony -- and it makes the film seem like less of a collage and more like a puzzle that needed to be put together in a certain way.. Don't know if that makes any sense..? ;)

The VFX-shots were good, although a few of them still didn't look quite real to me. The shaky camera work helped to maintain some of the film's realism, but especially the shots where the planes start crashing into buildings and such -- They still looked a bit too unreal.. Anyway -- I would never expect the VFX to be perfect on a budget like this, so it didn't really bother me that much.. :)

Still, very impressive work.!! :)

thanks a lot mate! yeah I made the film for $!50 so I aint complaining about the VFX or anything. I actually did everything 5 months ago, and throughout the process I kept getting better and better at my vfx, and I kept re-doing shots shots, over and over, most the shots in the film are the product of 5 previous edits haha.

but yeah, thanks a lot for the feedback. appreciate it
