Doc Martin BTS

Love Doc Martin. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out. I have the biggest crush on Louisa and often wonder why she puts up with all of his BS.
Martin Clunes is a great actor. Worth checking out "The Man Who Lost His Head", it's on Prime or Netflix, can't recall which one. Badly directed
but good casting and acting, interesting locations and culture with the Maori.

Also love Doc Martin and the photography. It's "comfort food", and the wife and I have seen every episode. Hoping they'll someday do an HD version of the early seasons, along with another film-shot favorite of ours, Rosemary & Thyme. We watch that whole series every year, an episode a week, on Sundays, starting before Christmas and finish up in late spring, a ritual for the last ten or twelve years at least. A bit batty, I know, but it's our thing and hope to see that wonderful 35mm photography in HD someday instead of our blurry well-worn DVDs...

That's interesting - UK film for TV tended to be shot on Super 16. I wonder why they went to the greater effort (and cost) of shooting 35mm for Rosemary & Thyme?

I owned an Arri SR-2 for years. Watching this made me miss my old camera. S16 was a great format to shoot and with good lighting, looks beautiful.

I did just check the IMDB listing again to make sure I wasn't remembering incorrectly... looks like 35mm.

I still hold out hope for a really nice UHD transfer and reconform at some point... ha! ...or a 150 mil Michael Bay feature film version with explosions and high body count, starring Judy Dench as Laura and Helen Mirren as Rosemary. I think both are equally likely. :)

On topic, sad this will be the final season of Doc Martin upcoming this fall...

So S9 is the end? Sad but inevitable.
