Do you use V-Log and Edius? One question.

Hello, I know I'm asking stupidly, but I have a curiosity:
If you use V-Log (I have, a GH6) and do video editing with Edius, can you tell me how much contrast you use more in general? I mean the "Color Balance" panel/contrast with +.
Do you often use +9 or even more?
Sorry for my stupid question, but ....

As you know I too have a GH6 that I shoot v-log. However some time ago I moved to Resolve as I find that better than EDIUS. When I used EDIUS I would just use PCC which EDIUS would automatically recognize files as V-log coming from the GH6 and apply the colour space correction to rec709 for my timeline I could then fine tune as I wished in PCC controls. I did most of my corrections in PCC and never really used any of the other picture controls. I used layouter for cropping etc.

However, it seems unnatural to me not to apply contrast correction with "Color Balance". I always use it. It seems really incredible to me, but OK, you have a lot more experience than me. I would be happy if you told me how you increased the contrast with PCC. I know it can be done, but I can only increase the contrast up to a certain limit with PCC.
 
Using PCC you do a correct colour space conversion from V-log to rec 709 or even a HDR space. Those controls at the top section of PCC. EDIUS should automatically detect V-log. For contrast apply an s-curve with the curves control near the bottom of the PCC control window. selecting the " Y " curve. You can do just about every colour correction within PCC. For most of my GH6 files PCC does a conversion and I have mostly nothing to change other than a little "exposure control" change. Have not used for a several years now but just loaded up EDIUS 9WG and it auto recognized a 6K 60P Vlog file from the GH6 and I just had to increase "exposure control" a little to get a good image. Controls are nowhere near as good as Resolve but acceptable.
