I was just wondering if windows xp professional is required to run avid, and if so do any of you have pro on your home computer, and would that cause any problems aside from the media center version. Or in simplier terms, what would be the cons of having pro. thanks
Yes, you have to have XP Pro. No cons on having Pro vs. having Home. If you currently have Media Center and you use it, then going to Pro would lose all of your Media Center functionality (record TV, etc.)
XP Pro is the same as XP Home except that Pro has additional networking and security features. It's the security features that are important to Avid.
