I made a small app a while ago designed to preview live video from a firewire connected camera, but I could never get the 720p60 preset to work for people. Since I am UK based and only have a PAL HVX200, I could not directly test the problem.
So I'm looking for anyone who has an NTSC HVX200, has the the Apple Developer Tools installed and has a Final Cut Pro 5.1.x on the same system.
You need to have the Developer Tools to test a small Quartz Composer comp and you need FCP as it uses the DVCPRO HD capture codec that only comes with FCP.
The app is free, so feel free to use it for whatever you like, but what would be great is if someone with an NTSC HVX could do a little trouble shooting in Quartz Composer for me - its very simple, you just need to load the comp and have your camera connected and set to 720p60.
Here is the tool
Here is the comp
Open it in Quartz Composer, then open the Viewer (must have you cam connected and in 720p60 mode). Do you just get a garbled image?
If you understand QC a bit more, you can click into the main Macro Patch and select the 'Video Input' patch and check the settings are set to DVCPRO HD 720p60.
Many thanks
Mark
