Do the GH1 Panasonic batteries have a memory effect?

Do the Panasonic brand batteries for the GH1 (the battery that came with the GH1) have a memory effect, where if it isn't completely discharged before you recharge it, the battery life will decrease? Or can you charge the battery, even if it still has some juice left in it, without decreasing the battery life?

Good question - was wondering exactly the same thing. I did buy a spare battery, but I've realized that one may run out while the other one is still charging.
What happens if I remove it from the charging block halfway through the charge cycle...? (or - what happens in the event of a power failure while the battery is charging?)

The batteries are lithium ion and thus don't suffer from the "memory effect' of other battery chemistries. That said performance will degrade over time and use, and doing full charge/discharge cycles rather than constantly topping up probably isn't a bad idea. But if you need to use the camera don't worry too much about pulling the battery from the charger before it's finished.
