Do Sennheiser Lavalier Mics work on Sony Transmitter?

I've been trying and no go.

Also tried a cheap one from Amazon just to try it out and still doesn't work.


I'm guessing only Sony Lavalier Microphones will work on the Sony Transmitters?

Simple answer...NO

The reason is the tip and ring on the 3.5mm are reversed.....Sony mics won't work on Sennheiser and visa versa.

Any lav can work with the Sony. As OzGizmo pointed out, it's a matter of how the connector is wired. This has nothing to do with brand of lav.

Oscar SoundTech get lots of praise around here as inexpensive mics that do a decent job. The ones I have used, I was pleased but still prefer my Countryman or Sanken.

Just be sure to get the mic wired for your transmitter.
