just wondering...i have tried looking online...not sure why they wouldn't be out there, unless it's for some reason i'm not thinking of...i won't be using a matte box, so square filters arent what i'm looking for....i just thought a simple screw-on filter that rotates like a circular polarizer would be nice...anyone know if these are common and/or available?

You can use square filters, if you want. I have a set of lovely Singh Ray grad NDs. Absolutely top quality and they are square. Get a Cokin step/down ring for the size of your lens and one of their square filter holders and you're good to go.

For round polarizers, also look at Cokin, Schneider. If you have a polarizer from your still camera you can use that too.
