REMINDER.... all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies today and you will start to receive sales calls. You can be charged for these calls.

To prevent this, you can call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222.

It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It blocks your number for five years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number. Conversely, you can go to www.donotcall.gov.

just a note from someone in the business, when you join the do not call list you have to give it like a month to register, so you very well could receive calls the first few weeks after joining.

Companies are not required to update to the do not call list daily, im not sure how often they have too but i know its like monthly or bi-monthly.

So dont freak when you join the list and get a call right after it takes a lil time to get in the system.
 
i just had to get a new phone number to prevent the harassing calls of terry lasater and i've been receiving telemarketing calls ever since. irony?
 
After my credit card info was stolen a few months ago, I started getting a lot of calls from auto loan an payday loan places wanting me to "complete my application." Nice. So I broke down and got Caller ID and Call Blocker and all that junk that costs AT&T a few cents a month to operate yet costs me 20 bucks. But what they don't tell you is that you can only use Call Blocker on local calls. What? What purpose does that serve? I can block calls from that "supplier" I stiffed, but can't stop Kaplan University from bugging me?
