Do I need a new shotgun mic?

[digexpressions]

Is there any way to use my Sennheiser MKE300 (plug) with the HMC150 or should I sell it and get a new mic?

[matt s.]

id sell it and get a proper XLR mic.

Any recommendations for wedding use?

Wireless Lav combo on the groom and lectern... You wont get much of anything with an on board mic.

or you will need this to convert the mini to XLR...

Thanks. I'm thinking more along the lines of prep shots and non-ceremony footage. ie shots of people talking.

not meaning to jack this thread but as digexpressions said what about a mic for prep shots, reception (for lets say the times that you would not be able to plug into the bands mixer) and stuff like that. what would be an all around mic if there is a such thing.
