I know this sounds stupid, but ugh, Im in that position. I bought a dvx100 off ebay. The listing said, dvx100, then down in red, there was an addon to the listing that said, this is actually a dvx100a, sorry for the mistake in the title. So I ended up getting it for just under $2400 with only 20hours. Well, i just got it today and on the lcd panel, it says dvx100 and under the eye piece it says dvx100P. So did I actually buy a dvx100 or is it the A model? I got in touch with the seller and she is being cool about it and is wondering what she can do to make things work for both os us, but I dont want to get her going when it is in fact a dvx100a.

So yeah, any help would be great!!

thanks a ton

anyone have any suggestions on how to approach this? She seems pretty open to what i would want to do. I just figure that for me to return and deal with getting my money back through paypal will be a huge waste of money, just in fees alone. Should I ask for a small refund or????

I guess that's the big question. I did purchase my DVX100A for 2400 with 12 hours on the heads. So I guess a small refund would be in order.

But if you really want an A model I would politely send it back. Don't settle for something you don't want, especially for 2400 dollars. The 100 is still a great camera, but if you want an A model, or even a B model, then that's what I would get. It might be inconvenient to send it back...but you'll be happy in the long run if you have the camera you want.

Unless she offers a huge refund...then keep it.

I mean, I had no REAL technical reason to get the A model, other than it was a little better and finding one with low hours is still pretty easy. I'll be using it for mostly skate/bmx stuff, but will be trying to get into some weddings and other misc money making jobs.

I'm just not alright with dealing with the paypal fees because 5% or whatever it is off of 2400 is quite a chunk. We'll see what she suggests and go from there I suppose.

Creepy. I almost bid on that auction!

Anyways, ask for a alittle money back, seeing how its a Dvx100. Ask for about atleast 400, make it an even 2000 thats how much the dxv100 is worth.

Or return it for a refund including cost of Paypal. You are within your rights as technically she misdescribed it in the Ebay ad. Strange that she should add specifically that it was an "A" model if it wasn't.

For more info on the differences between DVX100 and DVX100A, see here:

Worth checking the verifiable differences, although the labels on the camera should be correct.
