GH2 Do I have a bad GH2 ?

Thanky Ben very helpful just one more video i like you to see, if you look closely on the paper board there seem to be like a lightning flash behind that paper board on the left side of the screen, use 24 p at 50 ss 1600

My unit also has a number of stuck pink pixels that do not completely disappear with the pixel refresh function.

Some people have mentioned banding and excessive noise problems in some GH2s, but not many people have mentioned hot pixels. It is very bad if pixel refresh cannot fix it, but doesn't pixel refresh only work for still images and not for video? Is anyone else experiencing hot pixel problems?

Are you saying that light movement behind the board is your camera doing? I doubt it.

The only thing wrong with that video that I could see was the ghosting from not being deinterlaced properly. Shoot 720p instead of 1080i to avoid the interlaced artificats and still retain the same resolvable resolution.

That "lightning " is a reflection, it 'strikes' as soon as the man moves and stays the whole time that he is picking up the skeleton.

That "lightning bolt" is very strange. It comes off the right-middle side of the white chart (your right as you look at it) and goes diagonally down 45º, at the 3rd second of the video. It occurs at the moment he turns from us back to get the skeleton and happens at exactly the moment you can see strong light relections coming from the LCD of his pager(?) on his belt. Gshort is probably right and the image processing accounts for its bizarre form. If it's not that, I have no idea, except camera processing problems.

It does not happen that often mostly in 24p i notice also pixel box type like a square pixel it on than of. not sure if i should send it to panasonic ,

Hi all thank for helping me
Here is the video i did today at 3 pm it has circular noise this happens evan with a video light i use iso 400 and 800 60 i 1080 the shutter i think open, look at those circular ring what can cause that . i also have more strange artifact on the video i just shot i will put up as soon as vimeo is ready.i use pancake 20mm 1.7 , The minus 2 work in getting rid of some of the noise but not these circle noise.

One way to help minimize this, according to the cinematographer who shot that House episode on the 5D, is to add a bit of grain in post. That's apparently what they did .

Also if you shoot 24p instead of 60i the codec implementation on the GH2 is much better and you'll get less jaggedness and blocky noise.
