Dragon Natually Speaking is a great little piece of software when your hands get tired of typing, but it won't help you come up with a story, it's not gonna brainstorm with you. You need a little bro or little sis to pick on and do the work for ya!
Typing - getting the rhythm of ideas-in-your-head-to-words-on-the-page - impresses me as such an integral part of the process that I think you're shortchanging yourself by laying the task on someone else.
Maybe there are productive and successful writers out there who can't handle the physical task of putting their words on the page, but I sure can't guess who they might be.
Seems kind of like a DP who doesn't want to have anything to do with a camera, besides telling someone else more or less what he'd like to come out of it.
Deadwood was written in a silmilar fashion... The creator sitting there with a bunch of folks around him, and he would just start spouting off dialog and such...
Special features are cool and worth a watch as there are some featurettes showing this going on...
Well...on Deadwood we had a room filled with professional writers, all of whom could manage their own technical writing duties aside from the free-form story sessions...
I think dragon speaking is the best way for me.. thanks for the suggestions fellas..
as far as everything else, I'm glad I started this thread.. I got to see some angry 'writers' come out the woodwork.. lol
"write it yourself, whats wrong with u".. "this is the only way you'll get the experience" "blah blah blah".. Haha .. I UNDERSTAND though .. it was just a question that I was curious about..
