Hey all. Recently shot and edited a drum and bass music video for a local record label. Shot on my 550d and friends 5Dmkii.

Cheers! Well the orig track was 5 min + so we decided to cut it down a fair amount. The intended audience is just fans of the artist/music/label- purely online, intended to increase EP sales and exposure. My friend and I made it for free.. (even made a loss because we had to commute to London to film.) Just hope to get more (hopefully paid) jobs from it hehe, and build up a decent portfolio.I like your use of silhouettes and light. The video was gutter as hell. It looked really raw. The black and white was nice too. Over all, it was a nice composition- albeit long(ish). This is coming from broadcast- where it seems every piece of video has to be less than 30 seconds. I like longform, and I like this piece. Who is the intended audience for this?
That's not a music video. More like a promo. Or some on location shots cut to what seems like the breakdown part of a song. I was waiting for the DnB to kick in. It never did. Not trying to be mean or rude. Do you listen to DnB at all? I say choose a song with more umph and try it again. The shots will work no prob, but they can be so much more with the right music track and editing.
Ah cool man. Yeh dont worry! hope i didnt sound rude. You never can tell on the internet..Yeh well the orig track does have buildups etc, we just cut it down at the first break to make a lil promo out of it. The actual track is over 5 minutes long. Thanks for the comment, I am making a music video for a friend in the next month or so. His artist name is 'bearcubs'. Check out his stuff on soundcloud! You miiigghhttt like it. More abstracty, flylo type stuff.I know it is DnB....a sub genre of such. Wasn't trying to be rude or anything....it's just that most EDM tracks are 6-7 minutes long and have breaks, builds and drops ect...glad to hear this is successful though. I'm an EDM fan and you don't see much of it around here, so it is good to see it for a change. Don't let my criticism deter you. I would definitely like to see more. If you plan on doing any other EDM vids soon please post, I'll be looking for it.
