Hi everyone!

I decided to wait for a while before posting my own films here. I don't own a DVX100A yet, but the people here seem to be quite nice and responsive when it comes to others' films, so I thought I'd post some of mine too.

  • Death is Fair [ H.264 (31mb)] - the last film I completed a month ago. Really - the first film that was made by me from the script to the export from Xpress Pro. Compositing in Apple Shake. Trailer coming soon :).
  • Voicemail (trailer | the film) - my work here was around half of the cinematography, and all of the post production work, including composing the soundtracks. Quite a few flaws too, but I'm not responsible for the plot holes and the somewhat obvious reference to one of the Fincher's films  . * Took a few days to make the credits. The new download source is pretty fast.
  • Blur music video (download) - a video shot in 1 h 20 mins. Could be interesting because of the cloning of myself I've done in Shake, which I'd love you to evaluate.
  • Fahrenheit Coca Cola (download) - if you're really interested, the first film I edited. With Premiere Pro at that time.

A bit of personal history, if anyone has patience to read it: I graduated from a high school in Vancouver, BC this year, but only realized I enjoy film less than a year ago. Since then I've been trying to learn as much as I can about all of the aspects of it, with an emphasis on editing, compositing, and technical details of the other tools of film-making.

Honest critique - very welcome.

Hey guys, tell me if it's way too slow. It should theoretically provide around 80 KB/s, but I haven't tested that myself yet. Should find some sort of hosting for this...

Downloading some stuff now. Your files are big. You might not get a large response here for a few different reasons (equipment used, file size, etc.). I suggest "Modifying" your original post and providing a direct link to your Voicemail Trailer. That is a quick video to download/watch and it looks great! More people are likely to post reviews if you start them off with a taste. Maybe then they'll get curious and view some of your other stuff or maybe, after a few reviews, you can post more links to your other videos.

I really liked the trailer for Voicemail. The train shot (at the end) was amazing. Great stuff! Very cool.

Good luck!

hmm, apparently it's going to take about 3 and half hours at 4.87 kb/sec for "Death is Fair." but it looks cool, so I'll leave it on overnight. I might download "Voicemail," too.

Thanks a lot, guys. I've been looking everywhere to host videos somewhere, but no luck yet :(. I tried OurMedia.Org but it's really slow. So right now the only option is my own hosting. I suppose I could upload only the trailer to some free hosting server, and make a trailer for the Death is Fair too. Thanks for response and taking your time to download too!

I uploaded all the films except for Death is Fair on other servers. The downloads for DIF on another server will be ready in a couple of hours. Meanwhile all of my bandwidth is available.
