When I bought NorBro's Pocket 3 last month I didn't really know what I'd use it for, but as the name says, it is easy to throw in your "pocket" and whip out whenever the moment is right. It's turning out to be a pretty handy little camera to have around. For example, I was shooting still photos a couple of weeks ago with my Sony A1 at a prescribed burn in Florida. So, I decided it would be a good opportunity to grab some 4K video for stock footage using my Sony Z280 and DJI Osmo Pocket 3. It was easy to carry all three cameras and switch between then as necessary. The Z280 clearly has the superior image quality and better focal-length range, but I have to say the Osmo did allow me to get a few shots that I couldn't have gotten as easily with another camera. I got more than 30 clips with the Osmo (65 from the Z280) that have already been accepted by Shutterstock, so I probably just paid for the Osmo already with this one shoot.
How do I know? Because I shot a prescribed burn in 2019 with the Z280 and I've already made over $14K from that one day. The Osmo only cost me $600 so I assume it will earn at least that from this one shoot.
As Bassman pointed out on another thread, the motion of the Osmo is not as smooth as a mirrrorless/gimbal would be, and I don't disagree, but its a heck of lot more convenient. Man, I wish I'd had this stuff 40 years ago!
