DJI Mavic Air 2

$799 for a basic package. 4k 60p, 1/2" sensor.

Quad Bayer! 12MP sensor for video or 48MP in high-resolution stills mode. So it should have reduced color resolution in high-res mode since each 2x2 patch of pixels shares a color filter, right?

I wonder how the low-light performance of the 1/2" sensor of the newer tech compares to the 1" sensor on my Phantom 4 Advanced. Probably worse? I love the collapsible form factor, though.

I like to fly my Mavic Air but image quality is not to good so this looks like a big step in the right direction. If only it could replace my Phantom Pro as well.

For me the biggest problem of the previous Air was that it didn't shoot log. I didn't find any info on this for the new model: does anybody know?

(well, the reason I don't already own an Air is that I wouldn't be able to fly it legally anywhere here in Madrid, and that's not going to change, but a guy can dream...)

I wouldn't expect to much improvement in image quality but operation looks to be better. I think it will be a fun drone to toy with.

So... can you set ISO and aperture on this Air 2 ? Or is shutter speed - and the external ND's the only way to control exposure of the camera? I tested the original Mavic but ended up buying the P4Pro - so maybe this was introduced in Mavic 2 Pro ??

The aperture is a fixed 2.8 I believe. Only the Mavic Pro 2 has an adjustable aperture among the prosumer DJI drones. Shutter and ISO are adjustable. Ships with three ND filters.
