Hello all,

Here are a couple of videos I made for my DJ friends.
- all shot on dvx100b 24pA
- magic bullet quick looks
- tweaks in brightness / contrast
- no lights

DJ Dstrukt - http://www.vimeo.com/6272357
- skateboard wheel dolly w/ pvc pipe track

DJ Boogie Ronsta - http://www.vimeo.com/6158153
- skateboard wheel dolly w/ pvc pipe track
* dolly footage slowed to 79%
- glidecam 2000pro w/ arm brace

Any feedback welcome. Thanks!

Hi guys,

Thanks for the comments.
I'm surprised they come out okay since I basically compress the file two times (and then vimeo, a third time).

1) NLE: Sony Vegas Pro 8.0
Output: .mov

Video settings:
- Frame size: 873x480
- Frame rate: 23.976
- Field order: None (progressive scan)
- Pixel aspect ratio: 1.000
- Video format: Sorenson Video 3
- Compressed depth: 24 bpp color
- Quality: High (100%)
- Data rate: Unconstrained
- Keyframe every (frames): 24

2) Quicktime Pro 7.6
Output: .mov

Movie settings:
- Compression: H.264
- Quality: High
- Key frame rate: 24
- Bitrate: 8000 kbits/sec
- Frame reordering: yes
- Encoding mode: multi-pass
- Dimensions: 1280x720
- Scale: Crop

A bit time consuming, but it works for me. I could have rendered out .mp4 h.264 in Sony Vegas, but it does not come out properly. The settings I listed conform well to vimeo's video window only and look funkier elsewhere.

Darren: don't know why you said that, but I think the video quality on your videos are superior to mine. Love the go-karts.

i said details and man did u ever give... goodstuff. nah i think ur quality is better. i feel like ilm on a never ending quest with encoding ...cuz the dvx puts out goodstuff just need to figure out frickin encoding :) thanks again....i dont use vegas but i will see what i can do with those settings in premiere. i think i need to get quicktime pro.
