Give me some opinions on what I need to fix.
Screen shot from my static DIY adapter. The film itself has been critiqued. But I need some opinions on the image. I have seen it to many times to be objective
It could be either absolutely perfect or wrong on every level. That depends on what image you want to create. If this is the one you wanted, it's fine. If not, make it what you wanted. Things like this are context driven.
Thanks. I understand that the look of a film (or a still in this case) is subjective. So, Yeah I guess thats what I am asking. "Do you like it?"
Or maybe there is something a little more objective....like "There is some weird looking visual abberation in the corner there..."
Thanks for the responses..keep em comin'
Thanks for your views Cassius.- Yeah, I do believe you are right. I need some practice in regards to lighting. Everyone's opinions help.
Thanks Austinv-I am thinking of converting it to a vibrating adaptor soon. If I ever have time....I think I need a stronger anchromat as well. I used what I had on hand and I do not think it is quite strong enough.
just on a technical note: There is quite a bit of fringing in the picture and some chromatic aberration. You also have pretty strong vignetting and the corners are soft. Besides that, it doesn't look too bad for a home made adapter...
Hey thanks Cordvision. I am not familiar with the term "fringing" What is that refering to? Your other observations are on the mark though. The vigenetting I do not mind so much. The soft edges are an issue as well as the CA. I think with a better anchromat, some of those image issues will be improved. Plus I can zoom in a bit farther to alleviate some of those issues even further.
I guess I will have to bite the bullet and actually spend some money...The only thing I purchased so far was the focusing screen, everything else I had on hand, from other parts I was not using. I used two dip cans ( for the tubes)I got from some guys at work...It's the Snuff35!
Thank you so much everyone for your opinions
