Hey guys,
I've been doing some reading on these boards and it seems that while it's been discussed, no one's come forward with a DIY telecine for 16mm film.
I was thinking I could score a cheap Krasnogorsk k3 from ebay, along with a projector, and use the same principles of a DIY adapter to get the best possible telecine with a DVX at the recording end.
For those of you guys that have worked extensively with film and the DVX before, do you think adjusting the shutter speed on the DVX would get rid of the projector's flickering? If not, would buying and installing those 5 blade shutters from eBay into a projector do the trick?
I want to work more with film, and I don't feel like we get enough hands on at school. If this is something that could be done with good results, it'd make it that much more accessible cost-wise for me to practice my shooting and cinematography. Plus, with a decent home brew telecine, one could even take an hd camera, plug it into the other end and have yourself an hd transfer to play with!
Anyhow, thanks in advance for any advice and insight you guys can offer.
