diy static vs other

why do they use the term static? wouldn't that mean you couldn't zoom?

I've been trying to find an in depth guide on how to build a static 35 adapter.. does anyone know where I can find one?

"static" means that the ground glass doesn't move. Most adapters use a moving ground glass, either by spinning it or by vibrating it.

Moving the ground glass helps mask the grain pattern of the ground glass itself. It appears to be quite challenging to create a static adapter that has an invisible grain pattern.

yea.. static refers to the GG.. but no you cant zoom through it, because the GG is so close to the lens and your camera needs to focus on that..

my static adapter doesn't get any grain.. check out the link below for examples..

What static adapter do you use? DIY? If so please show me the tutorial/guide you used, if any.
