DIY Radial Dolly

Ok, I'm bored waiting for my GH2, so I've been building a few DIY projects like a slider and this radial dolly. Total cost of the radial dolly was about $15 assuming you already have a few power tools. Anyway, my coming GH2 will be my first DSLR or SLR I've every owned. The last time I used an SLR was in 1974 during my Middle School Photography class. No kidding. I have owned several Panasonic camcorders, like the GS-400. This is a great community here so this is a little give back. I followed this tutorial from Back Yard Effects:

Here are some pics of my end product. It works but I need smoother wheels as the ones I have bounce too much for 100% smooth video. As the tutorial points out, these radial dollies are used for table top shots, like pushing in on a ringing telephone or something like that, for dramatic effect. I'll do a test just as soon as, well, I get my GH2.

I created the bean bag by just taking a sandwich bag and filling it with rice and then duct-tapping it.Bean Bag.jpg

Norwegian. I had a norwegian exchange student friend in high school that used to call me that cause I have black hair. the nickname stuck.

Those wheels are pretty banged up as you mention...go with some thick skateboard type wheels.
