is not good with the 701 hdv, i'd better take the

what are your suggestions for an adapter for my carriage and the 701hdv?
thx

Again... you do not need an adapter for this head. It will mount directly on the carriage with a 3/8"-16 bolt. Look at the specs here: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=556159&Q=&is=REG&A=details#specifications

All you should need is the 701HDV head & a 3/4" boly (3/8"-16).

I thought i needed something to rize the height of the carriage on the tripod....
When u say 3/4" boly (3/8"-16) it's what i call screw right?

I just did my order for a zaza zilder, here in romania. cost me 160E + free shiping - cool.
I intend to buy this head 501hdv and use it with this slider. will work?
i was thinking ... there is something else except a head to put on my tripod and then the slider over it and still be able to make some move ... pan , etc?

You will need to add a riser if you want to do dolly shots (so you don't see the end of the rail)...otherewise, you don't HAVE to use a riser for horizonal slides.

People have been using this: http://www.filmtools.com/filmtools-extension-riser-4-n1503a.html

I use part of a Kessler 100mm ball mount:

Now... see the bolt (a screw is what you are calling it) that goes up under the carriage? That is a 3/8", 16 thread bolt that is 3/4" long.

OK now i get it, i m sorry 4 the misunderstatements....
Des manfrotto sell anything like your kessler 100 mm ball?
Here in EU is not that easy to find what u get
thx

How heavy is the rail+carriage itself? Also, what are the dimensions of the zaza feet when fully compressed and taken off of the rail. Also there was mention of using knobs instead of allen screws for quick removal of the feet from the rail, yeah?

Are there any solutions to doing dolly shots when using a quick release plate for the zaza slider. Meaning I'm thinking about having the slider mount into a quick release plate onto the tripod head as opposed to beneath it.

If not, what kind of setup time is there for setting up the slider onto a regular tripod? I'm using 501 Head on Manfrotto sticks and I'm doing landscape/wildlife filming and do a lot of hiking, setup/breakdown, etc so I need to travel light and quickly. Many thanks.

1000mm rail & carriage ~ 6lbs.
ZazaSlider Feet broken down (2 knobs removed) = 8" long
Knobs...yes! No problem.

???? beneath it? Putting a quick release plate on the bottom of the rail allows for really fast set-up... if that's what you're asking?

Take me about 30 seconds to screw the rail on a tripod....another 10 seconds to slide the carriage (which has my head mounted on it) on the rail.....ready to go!

What about if i find out that the slider rail has arrived with a little scratch? When the carriage passes over there it slows down a lot :(
Suggestions?

Assuming it's from igus. call them with a damage claim and request an RMA for replacement. They seem like good folks, I'm pretty sure they wont leave you hanging.

Thanks for the speedy reply. Is it possible to mount a quick release plate on the end of one of the legs to allow mounting on a tripod for vertical sliding like this product:

www.dpslider.com

Easy... just drill & tap a hole in the center bar and screw it on a tripod.

Or, reverse the leg assembly on one side and put it on the floor or a table.

I finished my slider today. Things went fairly well. My skills are a bit lacking as the holes are a little off center but it doesn't hurt the performance. So far it rocks! Nice and smooth. I went with a 650mm for portability so it's just over 2 feet. I got the WS-10-40S which is solid. I'm still working on an end solution as I don't feel like drilling and tapping the ends just yet. I have ordered something that may work and will post if it works out. Really nice though for only $100! Much better than an Indislider mini. I'm using it with a Canon T2i.

I wouldnt go any smaller though, I have an 800mm and its the same size as the tripod legs so it bungees to the tripod perfectly, no need to go smaller.

Hi N635DC, If you don't mind me asking, what is your method for setup and breakdown of the slider? Sounds like you're mobile like I need to be and am considering doing a quickmount plate but I'm not thrilled about having to possibly carry another head (2 head setup). Thanks in advance.
