You could always get an orbital sander and bluetack the glass to the bottom, then stick it in a tray of toothpaste and switch it on. Then come back three hours later....
When experimenting with GG finishes, it seemed to me that the fine finish had problems with hot-spotting. It didn't have enough diffusion to get an even image.
