as shown to me by Ianh, purchase one hoodman nikon eyecup.
remove cup from the plastic frame its stuck to.

on your GH unscrew two screws underneath your EVF. remove EVF front piece.
Align eyecup with front piece and super glue.

Leave to dry as glue fumes WILL fog your evf if replaced to soon.

DO NOT AFIX EYECUP TO CAMERA WITHOUT REMOVING THE FRONT EVF FRAME FIRST!

I REPEAT WILL FOG YOUR EVF!

clip back on and screw underneath.

If aligned properly the LCD can flip out from underneath the eye cup with ease.

This mod will also block your eyepiece sensor. Use LVF/LCD TO FLIP ON /OFF

I would not use super glue anywhere near a camera.

What are you talking about the stuff works wonders- when my FD to 4/3's adapter is acting up, I just squish out a glob of model airplane glue to fasten the lens, note* have to double up for long lenses!:2vrolijk_08:

My first mod by permantly attaching a slider to the evf cover of GH1

My second mod using a seperate attachment that slides in the coldshoe no glue required to fix to camera only to build.

now thats awesome! I'd love to get a breakdown of how you did 2nd version--I thought I saw the first vid in the DIY section- can I find more there??

Hi thanks! ;-)
Well I saw a DVX member making a prototype out of durable metal etc and might be selling at a price im not willing to pay.

its all made from the following junk from the house:-
Cotton earbud/qtip box (it was a plastic box that had a hinge flip lid) kinda like this http://static.letsbuyit.com/filer/images/uk/products/original/72/24/boots-baby-cotton-buds-60.jpeg
Random Shiny Black plastic container
And a left over slider from this set off ebay (which I originally used for permo mod no1)
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Eyecup-Eye-Cu...raphy_DigitalCamAccess_RL&hash=item2a04b26f8b

Basically I made a template using a peice of cardboard...folding over at the correct length from the coldshoe over the evf.
On the back of the "slider attachment" has a additional slider on the underside (to attach to nikon cameras etc) the card was slid into this and everything was drawn/cut out so that the evf can be seen through the attachment.
Then taking the template I drew and cut out 2 peices from the plastic earbud container glued together (for strength) the hinges allowed easy bend from coldshoe over evf.
Then for finish I cut out from the black shiny container and covered. I used a bit of gloss black enamel paint for the sides to give a nicer finish.
On the bottom of the slider attachment I added a thin peice of plastic that slides just between the bottom rubber and evf (clips in)...its a bit of additional help to hold it in place and does not effect the rubber.

I found a solid peice of rectangular plastic and cut to correct length between evf and camera and that went underside.

I would make one out of metal but dont have the tools
its pretty durable as it is anyway.
