diy EYE PIECE VIEWFINDER for 35mm Adapter?

I've come across a website (www.millertech.com) that makes open frame LCD monitors from 1.8" and up! The thought dawned on me that it would be very easy to make an eye piece viewfinder for my SGPro... the quality of the LCD isn't the best (434X280) I think. Furthermore, it is in 4:3 which would mean we'd have to find something to make it 16:9 optically... but I think it is worth a try, and I was hoping we could start a forum about it.

I don't know about you guys, but for me... shooting in direct sunlight is a pain with all of that light on just my LCD monitor... even with a hood.

Let me know if anyone has anything to add. I was thinking of building it with the 2.5" lcd monitor.

Hah! some of the montiors on there look really familer from other vendors. :)

Nice find, I'm in the market for a small LCD.

EDIT: They don't appear to sell directly .. I don't see any dealer links either.

EDIT 2: Here we go: http://www.lcdtft.com/ - Prices too.

Where would the signal come from? The Component Jacks/Composite Jacks? And if so, what happens when you need those to monitor elsewhere?

I suppose it depends on what cam you have, anyway.

I want an Eye-piece on the front of my HVX. Would do wonders for handheld/shouldermount.

This is a very good idea, though. Just never thought of doing it m'self. Hmmmmm

I agree on 2.5in LCD instead of the 1.8. Might as well? The price is about x2 though, and is it worth it for the extra pixels? What about the actual housing?
