I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to put a dimmer on the power cable of a 500 lowel DP. Would the variable current damage de bulb or reduce its life span at all? Here is the model i own

And finally what Softbox would one recommend putting on these lights?

Thank you in advance and i hope someone out there will have the answer.

Lots of confusion here.
First of all, I doubt you're using a 500k light ;)
the Lowel DP light is an open face 1k fresnel.
The light pictured looks to be a 500w lowel omni.

Look into the router control dimmers for the light. Do a quick search for it.

I am SOO sorry guys i don't know HOW it got in here, and i dont' know how to remove it, You're right Ted i meant to drop this off in the lighting section, (no wonder i couldn't find the posting there)

Help needed in isle 3... Admin?

The DP light can be fitted with either a 500w bulb or a 1k bulb and there's a thread in lighting right now about hand dimmers, featuring one from harbor freight that's $11.99 and I just bought one for my DP light.

Somewhere on the lighting board is a link to a fabulous 1.5K dimmer for $10. Designed for routers. It works and its well built. Kind of shocking. i should buy a half dozen really.
