Ditch P2 on HPXfor Blackmagic Video Assist?

..and lose the shoot when those silly little SDi 's break

Id always record dual even if at a lower internal bitrate.

Whenever I've used an external recorder I have ALWAYS recorded internally, as well, whether it be on my tape Vari, P2 Vari or C300. Saved my ass once and that was enough.

This is suitable for locked or stage shot. But when complete mobility is needed, it'll be a challenge.
Rich meta data will not be there. Not sure if the full TC will be recorded as well.
I would use this to take the VF's output and use
the internal camera media as the main. Not sure how good for critical color and sharpness evaluation when comparing
to the 9" Panasonic BT-LH910 for about $2K. Still skeptical at the $500 srp.

So this crossed my mind. Sell my P2 cards for this. Benefits:
  • I get an external monitor with new tools
  • Apple ProRes native
  • Real-time conversion of SDI to HDMI if needed.
What would I be missing besides AVC-Intra100?
